My Philosophy:

As an oncologist, I believe that medicine is currently forgetting the face of the father. The Hippocratic Oath calls us to serve the patient to the best of our ability, yet our modern medical system often impedes this responsibility.

As a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine—Hematology, Oncology, and Blood & Marrow Transplantation, and as Director of the Melanoma Program at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, I have seen this firsthand. Oncologists strive to do their best within the constraints of the system, but meaningful change requires us to break down silos and rethink how care is delivered.
